Google Enhances Mobile Search Experience with New Chrome Features
Google is making it even easier to
search from your phone or tablet with five new features in the Chrome mobile
app for Android and iOS. These updates are designed to make your mobile
browsing experience as smooth and efficient as using a desktop computer.
1. Handy Shortcuts for Local Searches
One of the coolest new features is Chrome Actions, which gives you quick shortcut buttons in search results. Looking for a restaurant? You'll see options to call, get directions, and read reviews right from the search results. This feature is now live on Android and will be coming to iOS this fall.
2. Improved Address Bar for Tablets
Google has refreshed the Chrome
address bar for iPads and Android tablets to take full advantage of their
larger screens. The new design, which follows Google’s Material You style,
keeps the website you’re viewing visible below the drop-down menu. This makes
it super easy to navigate back to your current page.
3. Personalized Suggestions Just for You
Chrome now offers personalized
shortcut suggestions based on your browsing habits. This means that on both
Android and iOS, you'll get quick access to websites you visit frequently. For
example, if you often type “schedules” to check the metro timetable, that site
will now pop up higher in your search suggestions.
4. See What's Trending on iOS
Previously available only on
Android, trending search suggestions are now on iOS too. When you tap the
address bar from the New Tab page, you'll see popular searches below your
recent ones, giving you quick access to what’s hot right now.
5. Live Sports Updates in Discover Feed
Sports fans will love this update:
live sports cards are now available in Chrome’s Discover Feed on both iOS and
Android. These cards give you automatic updates on games for teams you follow
or are interested in. You can customize this feature through the three-dot menu
in the Chrome mobile app.
These updates show how Google is
committed to making your mobile browsing experience better, helping you find
information and stay updated with ease.
